Due to chemical fertilisers and poor farming techniques, soil is being destroyed at a rapid rate - 24 billion tons are lost every single year. A football field’s-worth of soil is destroyed every two seconds and in the process millions of tons of carbon are released into the atmosphere. Chemical fertilisers also release huge quantities of nitrous oxide - a major greenhouse gas that warms the planet 300 times faster than carbon dioxide and also depletes the ozone layer. This level of destruction is simply not sustainable.
All around the world millions of acres of once fertile farmland have been turned to dust. Restoring the world’s soil is the only viable solution to reversing global warming and building a sustainable civilisation. Soil is our most precious resource and if the soil goes away so does humanity. Great nations can survive pandemics, recessions and even wars but there is not a country on earth that can survive the loss of its soil.
Supersoil is so powerful it can even turn sand into soil. When applied to regular soil it creates new topsoil removing enormous amounts of carbon from the atmosphere - a process called carbon sequestration. By applying 1 kg of Supersoil to 10 acres of grassland, 400 tons of new topsoil is created over time, removing an astonishing 100 tons of carbon from the atmosphere at a cost of just €3 per ton of carbon, significantly lower than the current price of carbon credits at around €50 per ton. By partnering with Supersoil farmers and landowners, governments and large companies can become carbon negative and help reverse global warming. It’s only by becoming carbon negative that humanity can deal with the existing legacy greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Taking your foot off the accelerator ( cutting carbon emissions ) is very different than going into reverse ( carbon negative solutions ). Creating soil is the only viable solution to reversing global warming and ending food poverty.
